Kitchen devices

  • Printer: Printer device that's dedicated to kitchen transactions. It's usually positioned at the kitchen in order to communicate with chefs.

  • KDS: Is a kitchen display system meant to show products\modifiers that are sent to kitchen in order to get prepared, it has many features like product delay notification, product cancelation notification, product changes and many more.

Product assignment

After adding a KDS or a kitchen printer to cashier devices, each of which will have Products button, pressing it will show a window of categories, checking each category will enable it to be sent to kitchen you can select particular products inside each category by pressing on the category name then checking the products that you want to enable.

Assignment helps in determining the products that will be sent to kitchen or not, for example water bottles don't have to be sent to ktichen sometimes since they don't need preparation.

Hold & Fire

When a product is enabled in KDS or kitchen printer, sliding it to the left side will result in showing hold, hold will hold the product from being sent to kitchen when the order is sent to kitchen. On the other hand Fire will release the hold and enable it to be sent to kitchen.

Color Codes

  • Red Stripe

    • Means the product is not sent to kitchen.

    • It was sent to kitchen but some changes have been applied to it.

  • Green Stripe

    • Product is sent to kitchen.

  • No stripe

    • Product is not assigned to ktichen.

Timestamps

  • Kitchen received at: Shows the time of receiving the products in the kitchen.

  • Kitchen done at: Shows the time of bumping (finished preparing) the order from KDS, or bumping it from notifier.

Sending to kitchen

Auto

  • After payment: If Auto send order to kitchen after full payment is enabled in cashier settings, once order is paid or closed, it will be sent to kitchen automatically.

  • Call center: If Auto accept call center order and sent to ktichen is on, once orders are sent from call center, they will be sent to kitchen automatically.

  • Waiter: If Auto accept waiter order and send to kitchen is on, once order is sent from waiter, it will be sent to kitchen automatically.

  • Ahead order: If Auto send ahead order to kitchen is set to a time, ahead orders will be sent to kitchen automatically based on that time.

Manual

Orders can be sent manually by pressing on Kitchen button in cashier. Error no products to be sent to kitchen shows when all product are set to hold.
